It seems that a common trend is companies that have a Facebook page and no website, or a website that is severly neglected.
Since we here are in the Eugene and Springfield area of Oregon, this is a very common thing for the vast small businesses here.
A business Facebook page can be a great thing, especially if you are not doing ads. (Facebook changes for 2018) But you are missing out on so much possible business or future business. You can ignore this if you are planning on retiring or closing in the near future. What we are referring to is Google search results, which you will probably not be a part of without a website. Yes, there are ways that this doesn’t apply, but it usually will.
Even with new Facebook restrictions, you can integrate your social media posts and events into your website. Integration does have a small cost to it, but it does allow those who don’t use social media platforms to still find your business and see relevant content.
I don’t want to worry about it or pay for it, etc… are common things we hear about why not to have a website. What we are saying is that you can have a website without putting a lot of money or time into it and also have your Facebook page content on the website, so you get the benefit of both.
Regardless of your primary choice, a basic website and a Google MyBusiness profile should be part of your digital marketing plan to go along with your social media presence.
